I love great record covers at least as much as any painting or drawing ever. The best of them hold not only the immediate visual attraction but also the promise of incredible musical journeys.
When I started this album, my journey through the history of recorded music had reached the 1950s, the decade when everything in music blossomed and exploded, including record cover art. This album celebrates exceptional — and sometimes questionable or ludicrous — examples of this art form. I’ll add to it as I continue.
Some of the covers are actually from later times but captured something of the era so well that I included them here. There’s not necessarily music I recommend on the records: this is about the covers.

Like its predecessor for the previous decade, this album celebrates exceptional — and sometimes questionable or ludicrous — examples of this art form from the 1960s, and again I’ll add to it as I continue.
